Seppo Luode's areas of expertise are strategic planning and business development as well as mergers & acquisitions. He has long experience especially in medical technology industry.
 

CAREER:

Seppo joined Nordic Adviser Group in 2008. Seppo is a Stanford graduate with an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business in 1982. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Helsinki University of Technology in 1977. From 2005 to 2008 Seppo has acted as adviser and consultant in several cross border acquisitions and integration projects. He has also served on the boards of several technology companies in Finland and Sweden. From 2004 to 2005 Seppo acted as Business Development Director of GE Healthcare Information Technologies, EMEA. He was responsible for development and implementation of new product initiatives and strategic planning processes. He was also Project Leader responsible for divestment and separation of Spacelabs Medical Inc., which was a pre-condition set by EU competition authorities for approval of the combination of Instrumentarium Corporation and GE Healthcare. From 1990 to 2004 Seppo held several managerial positions in marketing and business development at Instrumentarium Corporation and Datex-Ohmeda division. During this period Instrumentarium was restructured to become one of the world's leading medical device companies in selected fields of medical technology, e.g. in anesthesia and critical care equipment and information systems. The restructuring was implemented through rapid internal growth and a large number of acquisitions and divestments, in which Seppo played an important role. Seppo has also worked as venture capital manager at Industrialization Fund of Finland from 1987 to 1990 and as project manager and financial analyst in industrial, telecommunications and new technology development projects at the World Bank, Washington D.C., from 1983 to 1987.
